Non-Standard Dates

Aug 9, 2013 at 9:54 AM
I have entered thousands of dates such as Q3 1947 to indicate the the BMD event was registered in that quarter in the E&W GRO Indexes.
My program allows this style of date [with a warning], but not all programs will.
Sadly this upsets the Census Report.
Is there any way to overcome this [other than amending all the dates!].

Yes the dates parser tries REALLY hard to understand all sorts of date formats. If you could give me a GEDCOM snippet of a few examples of the dates that are giving errors I will try to amend the program to understand your date formats.

If you log this under the issues tab you can upload the GEDCOM snippet as an attachment.

Hmm. Are these literally just "Qx year" where x is 1-4? If so I've fixed this for v1.5.6.5 which I can release tonight after a couple of other tweaks.

Can you confirm that v1.5.8.0 fixes your problem?

Levva
I have tested various scenarios and I can confirm that Qn yyyy, qn yyyy, Mnn yyyy and mnn yyyy all work as expected.
Thank you so much.
